Welcome!
Collegium Musicum is an ensemble specializing in music of the
Ancient, Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque periods. The group performs both on
and off campus every semester, often in period costume using the College's
extensive collection of period instruments. Among the collection are viols,
recorders, crumhorns, lutes, historic brasses and harpsichord. Singers'
repertoire consists of a wide variety of chansons, lute songs, motets,
troubadour songs and other works with ancient language texts.
Membership is open to qualified students, faculty, and members of the
community.
Contact Dr. Joël Evans, music director,
evansj@newpaltz.edu, for information about Collegium Musicum at SUNY
New Paltz.
